After reading 37 books from the beginning of 2023, it’s time to see what have been the best ones so far!
The Wehrwolf
I didn’t expect a short story to make it to my top 5, let alone bring home the gold! The Wehrwolf by Alma Katsu is not your average short tale, nor something that should be looked down just for its lenght (below 100 pages): it dives deep into human nature, and in its pages folktales and real life converge.
Sheltering Angel
Sheltering Angel by Louella Bryant will be out on the 27th of July, so you have to wait few more days to get your hands on a copy! It’s a mix of historical fiction and biography, being based on real characters that found themselves victims of the Titanic tragedy. Historical facts, and critique on society are the main ingredients of this book.
Surviving the Angel of Death
From one tragedy to another, Surviving the Angel of Death by Eva Mozes Kor tells the experience of who were known as Mengele twins in Auschwitz. The tragic story of two Jewish sisters that willl fight for survival amist the brutality of the concentration camp.
